Haemodialysis

Haemodialysis is a way of cleansing the blood of toxins, extra salts and fluids through a dialysis machine. It helps to maintain proper chemical balance such as potassium, sodium and chloride and keeps blood pressure under control.
At SKF, patients will be arranged between 2 sessions i.e. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at morning or afternoon timeslot.

Kidney Awareness

The role of the kidneys is often underrated when we think about our health. In fact, the kidneys play a vital role in the daily workings of your body. They are so important that nature gave us two kidneys, to cover the possibility that one might be lost to an injury. We can live quite well with only one kidney and some people live a healthy life even though born with one missing kidney. However, with no kidney function, death occurs within a few days!

Donation

Every ringgit that you donate brings a ray of hope to the lives of people suffering from chronic kidney failure. Your donation can cover the cost of dialysis treatment amounting from RM 2,600.00 to RM 3,700.00 per month for one patient, excluding other medical expenses.

Recycling Project

Sibu Kidney Foundation started to collect recycling materials since 1998. Many people in our community are participating in this worthwhile project.

About SKF

From The Board

SKF is a non-profit organization and was established on the 7th June 1993, largely through the initiative of the late Datuk Hii Yii Chiong. By his generosity, as well as the response of many other donors, SKF became a reality with the sole purpose of providing affordable and quality dialysis treatments to kidney patients in Sibu.
